Ways to Get Outdoors in Riviera Nayarit

Posted in: Riviera Nayarit | January 11, 2017

Jan. 10, 2017 | By Meagan Drillinger

A beach vacation in Mexico implies that time outdoors is built into the equation. But for outdoor enthusiasts who want a little adventure than landlubbering on the shore, here are some top tips and places for exploring Mexico’s great outdoors in Riviera Nayarit a destination with nearly 200 miles of coastline, surrounded by the rainforest-blanketed Sierra Madre Mountains.

Flyboarding has been all the rage in Riviera Nayarit for a few years, and it’s still one of the coolest (and weirdest) things to do on the water. With the use of a water-propelled jet pack, riders are shot through the water and into the air where they can hover and fly. Hand and foot controls allow for in-air acrobatics like somersaults and twirling. (Read more in Travel Weekly)

The Future of Punta Mita, the Secret Retreat for the World’s Top Tech Billionaires

Posted in: Punta de Mita, Riviera Nayarit | November 16, 2016

Nov. 15, 2016 | By Jim Dobson

Located on a private peninsula surrounded by white sand beaches, Punta Mita is a spectacular 1,500-acre resort and residential community bordered by the Pacific Ocean, and an easy 40 minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta. Punta Mita is home to some of the world’s most stunning private estates, as well as two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, and the St. Regis Resort Punta Mita.

Once a sleepy bohemian surf area with charming small towns, this stretch on the Riviera Nayarit has become one of the most private and secure locations in the world. Before I could even get to my beach villa, we had to pass through multiple security checkpoints and gated roads. Punta Mita was created 15 years ago when the Mexican development company DINE bought property to create a luxury resort with high end hotels and world ranking golf courses. I spoke with Andrés Rossetto, the Managing Director of Punta Mita Development for DINE, and he explained the appeal of the area to buyers from the U.S. (Read more in Forbes)

Puerto Vallarta Number One Desitnation

Posted in: Puerto Vallarta | November 1, 2010

According to U.S. News and World Report Travel Puerto Vallarta is the number one destination in Mexico. Here is what they had to say: “Puerto Vallarta gets more rave reviews than most other Mexican vacation spots. The blend of excellent beaches, authentic regional cuisine and a quaint setting sets “PV” apart from Cancún, Cabo San Lucas and other package tourist centers.”

We happen to agree! Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area in Riviera Nayarit, such as Punta Mita, Litibu Beach and Sayulita are the best vacation spots in Mexico.

Riviera Nayarit – Mexico’s New Riviera Destination

Posted in: Riviera Nayarit | August 18, 2010

You’ve doubtlessly heard of — and perhaps been to — Puerto Vallarta. Well, just north of there, along central Mexico’s Pacific coast, is the state of Nayarit. The coast runs from the tony all-inclusive resorts of Nuevo Vallarta (very near to Puerto Vallarta in the southern part of the state), through the elite and fabulously expensive Punta Mita and up through a series of seaside enclaves catering to all classes of tourists, ending in the sleepy town of San Blas. Cafe des Artistes Del Mar in Punta Mita, Mexico

Cafe des Artistes Del Mar in Punta Mita, Mexico

We had great gourmet dining experiences at Café des Artistes Del Mar in Punta Mita and La Leche in Puerto Vallarta. I highly recommend both restaurants. Although, it is difficult to decide to leave the villa and go out for dinner as Matilda prepares delicious Mexican cuisine every day. It is impossible to believe that I lose weight while in Litibu; it must be the swimming and walks on the beach.
